
Noah C. Dandridge Brother’s Keeper Scholarship Endowment
The purpose of the Noah C. Dandridge Brother’s Keeper UT Knoxville Alumni Tri-Star Scholarship is to support students that are active members of an academic enrichment organization and demonstrate financial need. This scholarship is open to all UT undergraduate students but will be prioritized for members of the UT Success Academy and Brothers United For Excellence.
In support of endowment fundraising and the impact of the Alumni Scholarship Program, it will be honored by a one-to-one match up to a maximum of $12,500.
Criteria
The Scholarship Committee shall choose the recipients in accordance with University policy. The scholarship shall be open to all applicants regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, pregnancy, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, physical or mental disability, genetic information, veteran status, or parental status, or any other characteristic protected by federal or state law, subject to the following criteria:
Applicants must be currently enrolled at or admitted to attend the University of Tennessee, Knoxville
Applicants must demonstrate successful academic performance
A student holding the scholarship in one year shall have preference in
subsequent years
Applicants should be from Shelby County, TN
Should there be no qualified students from Shelby County, selection should be from students from any Tennessee county.
Preference will be given to students meeting the criteria outlined for the Tri-Star Scholarship Program. Please see Appendix A for specifications.
Should there be no students eligible under Tri-Star Scholarship criteria
students should be selected based on financial need.
Recipients selected with the Tri-Star Scholarship criteria as specified above will be required to meet the retention requirements outlined for the Tri-Star Scholarship in order to retain the scholarship. Please see Appendix A for specifications.
Preference may be given for students participating in programs such as the UT Success Academy, Brothers United for Excellence, or similar programs.
The Office of Alumni Affairs will determine how and how much of the annual earnings will be awarded.

There’s no essay required! This scholarship is based on financial need, so you would fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) prior to enrollment by February 1st. OneStop will pass along the student’s information to the Alumni Board and they will review the student’s financial aid qualification.

The initial award amount will start around $1200 and increase based on the consecutive donations to the endowment.

The scholarship will be applied to the student’s account and may be used for tuition, room & board, books, living expenses, or something related. If there isn’t a balance on the account, the funds will be issued to the student as a refund payment.

The scholarship will be applied to the student’s account at the beginning of the academic semester.

Absolutely! This is a four-year scholarship and can be renewed as long as the students meet the criteria.
